North Platte River Fishing Report
(Grey Reef, Fremont Canyon, Miracle Mile) 8/11/22
Grey Reef:
Flows- 2,000 CFS
Fishing Report- The Reef was recently dropped down to 2,000 CFS. PMDs and Caddis are still on the menu, running 4 feet to an AB. We are patiently waiting for hoppers to become consistent, but until then we are very pleased with how the Reef is fishing. We do foresee that the flows on the Reef will continue to drop from now until the winter.
Miracle Mile:
Flows- 550 CFS
Fishing Report- The Mile has stayed at a clean 550 CFS for a few days now. We are unsure if flows will remain this low, but either way the Mile is fishing very well. Similar to the Reef, Caddis and PMDs are still the go to patterns. As the flows are low but the temperatures are high, be mindful about how long you are keeping fish out of water.
Fremont Canyon:
Flows- 75 CFS
Fishing Report- Fremont Canyon is back to where we like to see it. Small black midges, like the Mayhem Midge, are fishing very well right now. We have been hearing there may be a short window in the early mornings and at sunset to possibly throw some dry flies, but no consistent reports at the moment.
