- The Grey Reef is at 500 CFS.
- The Miracle Mile is at 540 CFS
- Fremont Canyon is at 80 CFS
The Miracle Mile is not yet seeing very many brown trout, but the fishing has been good with very big fish mixed in with some dinks. The rest of the river has been fishing well, but early mornings have been a little slower and late mornings into the early afternoon being the best times to fish.
Nymphing:
Nymphing has been consistent. Late morning until the mid afternoon has been the best time to fish, try smaller baetis patterns and small caddis as well as midges.
Recommended Flies:
- Midges (Pal, MacGruber, Mayhem) #18-20
- RS2 #18-20 (chocolate, gray)
- Rock Worm #14-18
- San Juan Worm
- Split Case BWO #16-20
- Barr’s BWO emerger #16-20
- Darth Baetis #18-20
- Bird’s Nest Caddis
Streamer Fishing:
THE STREAMER BITE IS ON! Streamers with a smaller, sparse profile have been most productive. Make sure to have patterns with different amounts of flash, as some days fish have been wanting gaudy streamers, and other days they have wanted a more muted color scheme.
Recommended Streamers:
- Rusty Trombone #4-8
- Articulated Goldie #4
- Articulated Ditch Witch Tan, Olive
- Bob’s Silver Bugger
- Thin Mint Bugger
- Galloup’s Peanut Envy
