Baetis and Caddis are still coming off well and the streamer bite has been good to very good. There is some moss around still, but the colder weather we are forecasted to get this week should help.
Nymphing:
Nymphing has been very consistent all day, try smaller baetis patterns and small caddis.
Recommended Flies:
- Midges (Pal, MacGruber, Mayhem) #18-20
- RS2 #18-20 (chocolate, gray)
- Rock Worm #14-18
- San Juan Worm
- Split Case BWO #16-20
- Barr’s BWO emerger #16-20
- Darth Baetis #18-20
- Bird’s Nest Caddis
Streamer Fishing:
THE STREAMER BITE IS ON! Streamers with a smaller, sparse profile have been most productive. Make sure to have patterns with different amounts of flash, as some days fish have been wanting gaudy streamers, and other days they have wanted a more muted color scheme.
Recommended Streamers:
- Rusty Trombone #4-8
- Articulated Goldie #4
- Articulated Ditch Witch Tan, Olive
- Bob’s Silver Bugger
- Thin Mint Bugger
- Galloup’s Peanut Envy
