WE GUIDE YEAR ROUND WITH PRIVATE ACCESS
January Guiding North Platte River proves tricky for some but not for Crazy Rainbow Fly Fishing. Why, you ask? Simple- we have private boat ramps allowing us an opportunity to float throughout the year. January promises ice and consecutive days of freezing temps. While this isn’t a constant problem for wade fishing below Gray Reef Dam, it can be a nuisance for water craft.
January Guiding North Platte River
may sometimes be cold but it comes with its own set of advantages. For instance, winter flows promises abundant wade fishing opportunities with low flows. Second, the water stays clear. Finally, there is not a ton of people out on the water!
If you’re fishing independently, set your rig up for 5ft to an AB and fish annelids, scuds, leeches, and small black midge patters. If you have any questions about access, guided trips, or general fishing please call the Ugly Bug Fly Shop, because we are here to make you successful on the water.
