2017 TWO FLY TOURNAMENT & FISHING REPORT

TWO FLY FLY FISHING

Thank you to all of those who helped make this year’s Two Fly possible. The Two Fly does tremendous good for those here in Casper. They also contribute to keeping the fishing conditions here on the North Platte some of the best in the world.

At this time we would like to thank those in the oil and gas industry for their generous contributions. As well as another year with a fun group of contestants. Next, we would like to thank all of our sponsors for helping make this event possible. Finally we would like to thank the guides and volunteers who truly help make this event spectacular. For 13 years, rain or shine the hardworking guides and volunteers are up early ensuring a fun and successful Two Fly. Once again, we would like to say  thank you.  We are grateful for all of those that helped make this years Two Fly a success.

FISHING REPORT

Week of May 15, 2017

Fishing this past week was rough and water was murky. However, conditions are improving and fishing is heating up once again. Bugs have not changed a whole lot in the past week. We are still seeing quite a bit of bluewing patterns.

Recommended Flies

  • Gray foam post RS2,
  • Purple MacGruber both glass bead and foam back
  • Chocolate emergers
  • Batwing emergers
  • Streamers have been fishing well too in the lower river, olive and gold have been very consistent colors. We have been seeing solid streamer eats and have been pulling in some very healthy fish. As conditions improve and the river clears back up fishing is expected to get better. Flows have held steady but are projected to rise.

Current flows are as follows

  • Reef: 2000CFS
  • Mile: 1500CFS
  • Fremont: 80CFS
