The flows for the North Platter River below Gray Reef Dam are released. The Wyoming Game and Fish has requested these flushing flows to begin on March 6th and continue through March 15th. Flows will increase from 500 cfs to 4,000 cfs and then back down to 500 cfs each day. The peak of the water flow will occur between 3-7am. It will then decrease down to 500 cfs by 10am each morning of this schedule. According to the Bureau of Reclamation and the WY Game and Fish Department, the flow schedule may change depending on river ice conditions
This flushing cycle supports our fishery’s trout reproduction as it cleans the spawning gravels of sediment that has built up over the winter months. Please use caution during this schedule as water flows below Gray Reef Dam will fluctuate rapidly.
