North Platte River Fishing Report July 8, 2016:
The river has been fishing well with the flows down to 2,500 cfs. Consistent hatches of both PMD’s and Sallies seem to be on the menu most days. A nymph rig set up about 5-6ft to an AB weight seems to be the best option. Top bugs this last week have been purple Macgrubers, chocolate emergers, and Mercer’s poxyback PMD’s. Fish are starting to transition into the faster riffles and runs.
We had a close call tonight with a lightning fire near our Crazy Rainbow Cabin. Thanks to an awesome fire crew for your quick response and hard work. Fire danger is high, please be careful and enjoy your weekend!!
