Finally we have been greeted with some cooler temps!! It is some much needed relief for us and the fish. Looking at the forecast it appears that temps should stay in the upper 60’s and lower 70’s. So what does this mean for you? It means that you need to call in work sick and take advantage of some great fall weather.
With the water at its winter levels the fish are starting to drop into the riffles and longer pools. A nymph rig from 3-6ft with and AB or BB weight seems to be the recipe. Top bugs have been clouser crawdad, bush’s dad, PSL in brown, rust and natural along with some trico and pmd stuff. Psuedos are starting show up daily which means that baetis are right around the corner.
