Friends of the North Platte would like to thank everyone who joined us for our Pint Night at Bull Horn Brewery on May 27.
The turnout exceeded our expectations, with more than 100 community members gathering to learn about the proposed Seminoe Pumped Storage Project and what it could mean for our water, local wildlife, outdoor recreation, and Wyoming’s economy. It was encouraging to see so many people take the time to become informed and involved in an issue that could have long-term implications for the places we hunt, fish, camp, and recreate.
We were especially pleased to see nearly the entire board of Wyoming Travel, Tourism, and Recreation in attendance. Their presence highlighted the growing recognition that Wyoming’s outdoor resources are not only important to our quality of life but also play a critical role in supporting local businesses, communities, and the state’s tourism economy. Community members expressed a clear interest in understanding the facts, staying engaged in the process, and ensuring that decision-makers hear from the people who know and care about these landscapes.
Thank you to Bull Horn Brewery for hosting the event and to everyone who attended. The level of participation demonstrated just how much Wyoming residents value these special places and their commitment to protecting them for future generations. This conversation is far from over, and we look forward to continuing to work together to ensure that Wyoming’s outdoor heritage remains strong for years to come.
