Fishing Report Winter

Fishing Report 02/17/2026

The winter of non-winter weather continues. It has been warm and a great winter to get out on the river. Fishing has been solid on the Reef and the ‘Horn. Highly recommended to take advantage of the weather and get out of the house and get a jump on fishing.

Normal wintertime activities (aka skiing) are lacking, but the fishing isn’t. The Reef is till go to winter offerings of worms, leeches, and small nymph/midge patterns.  Add  more sows and scuds to the fly boxes for the Horn. Freemont, lean into the small nymphs and midges. The Mile has been so-so and a little tougher as of late. Would expect to see it improve or get more consistent, and always worth hitting. Just be prepared that it doesn’t always just cough up its’ fish easily.

With this weather, it is perfect time to take advantage of discounted off-season rates. Guide boats have been out, and guest having a great time. Come join us. If you have any questions, feel free to call or srop by the Ugly Bug. We are always excited to talk fishing.
