Grey Reef and Miracle Mile
The Reef bumped again, and were sitting at about 2300 CFS. This makes it a little tougher to walk and wade, luckily fish are sitting closer to the banks, so no need to get in chest deep. The Miracle Mile is sitting at 1530 CFS which are great flows for this time of year. Things haven’t been quite as productive up there yet though, we have a feeling when the stoneflies start to come off, things will pick up. PMD’s and Caddis are the two big bugs working well right now. We prefer the MaGruber PMD and the White’s Caddie Shack. Other good bugs to grab would be the Crystal Hunchback PMD, and a Bead Head Bird’s Nest. RS2’s and small midges will always work this time of year as well.
Fremont Canyon
Fremont is fishing great at the moment, and running at its usual 80 CFS. No need to be too heavy or long, about 4ft to a BB will do. Same bugs will work on a nymph rig. Never hurts to have a few worms in your pocket either!
All in all, we’re really pleased with how things are fishing right now, and looking forward to July when we start to see some stones. Now is a great time to get that July trip on the books!
