Ice, and a lot of it. The North Platte River is iced over from sections of Grey Reef Ranch downstream to Lusby. A few anglers with drift boats found themselves stranded on private property. Please use caution when floating this time of year and call regarding access if you’re unsure. Winter can be a wonderful time of year to recreate on this fishery and we always want exercise caution. Please be mindful of floating ice while wade fishing and fishing from watercraft. If you’re thinking about catching a drift, don’t hesitate to call the shop for more updated information on access and of course anything fishing related.
On a lighter note, we had boats on the water guiding clients last week and the fishing has been good. Rock worms, egg patterns, scuds, and leeches should do the trick. Just set your nymph rig up for 5ft to an AB. All of which we have in stock and are ready to make sure you’re outfitted.
