QUINTESSENTIAL NORTH PLATTE FISHING PICTURE
When a picture is worth a thousand words… The epitome of fall fishing on the famous North Platte River in Casper, Wyoming is landing the elusive brown trout. Client Andy Hart has done just that. But why stop with the fish? The backdrop is just as beautiful with the leaves turning, showcasing that beloved brown and gold!
Seasons change on dime around these parts and sometimes Wyoming doesn’t see an Indian Summer or a colorful autumn. This year is a mighty fine exception to that rule and we are soaking it up! Don’t live vicariously through Andy. Come have some fun with Crazy Rainbow Fly Fishing- or at least allow us here at the Ugly Bug to point you in the right direction.
Fishing Reports
Mile: 540cfs 4′ to an AB worms, MacGrubers, and Rs2’s. But it’s the Mile and fishing can be different from day to day so be sure to bring you full arsenal to be prepared. Be careful driving to the mile this week as we have seen significant snow.
Reef: 500cfs 5′ to a BB baetis patterns, BWO’s, and leeches
Fremont: 85cfs Fremont usually fishes much like the Reef so it would be helpful to have those same baetis, BWO’s, and other small black midge options at the ready.
