Fly Fishing the North Platte River in Mid-Winter
As we find ourselves somewhere between winter and spring, it can be hard to know what the weather will do on a daily basis. Fortunately for Casper residents, the Grey Reef section of the North Platte River is close enough to make a last minute fishing excursion. If your itching to go fly fishing, there are plenty of public access points to enjoy- even in the dead of winter. As of late, fish have been enjoying small black midges and purple rock worms in sizes 16/18, leeches, and small streamers such as a woolly bugger.
If you’re having trouble staying warm this winter the Ugly Bug has all your layering and insulation needs from Simms and Patagonia.
