Took out clients on a windy chilly winter Sunday and had a great time! Fishing was good and picked up later in the day as the weather laid down a little bit.
Chett was up in the area from Colorado and brought his son from Austin Texas. It was Austin’s first time nymph fishing and with the wind he did an amazing job. Landed some real good fish and a nice 22 inch rainbow. The fly of the day was a leech, both grey and light brown with some midge eats when the sun peeked out. Chett caught this nice rainbow on a pine squirrel leech heading in to the take out at Lusby.
Crazy Rainbow has private boat ramps on the river and we thought we might have to take out early, but the river was open all the way to the take out. One of our other guides did a little fun fishing later in the day swinging streamers and did well also. Warmer temps are in the future for this week and next. So if a guided fishing trip is on your Christmas list give us a call! We still have some Hunting dates available around the Holidays, so keep us in mind!
