Hoping everyone had a happy and safe 4th. Well the heat is here and so are the fish! Had a 5 boat group fish with us the last few days and the fishing was off the hook. Everybody left with huge smiles and had a great time. For many of them it was their first time fly fishing. Needless to say they were very spoiled.
We have had steady hatches of PMDs, Yellow Sallies, Caddis and a great Trico hatch the other morning. Small PMD nymphs along with Yellow Sally imitations all caught fish. It appears that fish are starting to move into the fast runs and riffles. A 3 to 6 ft. nymph rig seems to be the ticket these days.
With these hot days that we have been experiencing please be aware of your surroundings as we are staring to see in influx of both rattle and bull snakes along the river.
