BIG BROWN TROUT ON THE NORTH PLATTE RIVER

NORTH PLATTE FISHING REPORT

Hoping everyone had a safe and enjoyable Memorial weekend and a huge thank you to everyone past and present that is in the Armed Forces.

Great is really what sums up how the fishing is right now.  We have been spoiled in the fact that we have been able to catch fish with just about every technique of fly fishing.  There have been some great blanket hatches of midges with some baetis mixed in.  It will not be long before we start to see consistent hatches of  pmd’s and caddis.  Our guides have been finding fish all over the spectrum from seven feet all the way down to a foot along with fish on the surface as well.  It has been a little bug

program with medallion midges, mayhem midge, dorsey’s top secret, chocolate emergers, skinny nelsons, hickey’s auto emerger and gray rs2’s along with one fish that was fooled by a size 14 Peacock PMX.  Pictured to the right is Jack with his first Grey Reef Rainbow!
