FISHING REPORT 05/08/2026

Spring fishing on the North Platte has been solid, with the Reef continuing to fish especially well. Multiple sections of the river have been productive, and it’s been a fun stretch of spring conditions out there. Flows are currently around 500 CFS, and the river is definitely starting to get “buggy.” We’ve been seeing good BWO and midge activity, and on warmer afternoons even a few caddis showing up in certain sections.

There have been some great dry-dropper days mixed in with opportunities to target pods of actively feeding fish. Standard spring staples like worms and leeches are still producing, but make sure to keep plenty of BWO and midge patterns in the box as well.

Please remember there are spawning closures currently in place from Cable to Cable at the top of the Reef, as well as from Ledge Creek to S Gulch through May 15.

The Miracle Mile has been fishing okay and should only continue to improve as spring progresses. Similar bugs and setups are getting the job done there as well.

Things are really starting to rock and roll, and guide days are booking quickly. If you’re hoping to get on the water this spring, we recommend giving us a call sooner rather than later, as availability is becoming limited.
