Fishing Report 10/31/2025

Happy Halloween!

The Reef

The river has settled down and the Reef is fishing well. As the weather cooled hatches are a little lighter, later in the day and shorter in duration, which is to be expected. Still, some good dry, and dry drop just not as prolonged as end of
September and the first part of October. Shoot is almost NovemberHatches include BWO’s, Pseudo, and midges.   Streamer and indicator fishing has been productive as well. The top section has been more of our focus as of late. The main channels are clearing of weeds, some still along the edges, but it is cleaning up.

The Mile

The Mile has been alright and expected to pick up as we move into November, weeds clean up more and fish more fish move in the system. We have a feeling that if you are willing to brave the cold, come November, the Mile will start to pick up.

Let ’em Do Their Thing

Fall does conjure images, hopes, and dreams of big, nastykyped up browns for sure. It does happen and they can get grabby on streamers as they stage and get ready to tussle with other males and defend some turf. They can also congregate more as they move to thier beds to mingle, swipe right and party. With that said, as we approach the brown trout spawn, please, please, be kind to these fish. Don’t target the redds and walk all over them and harass fish. You are only shooting yourself in the foot for the future. We already have more rainbows than browns and don’t need to reduce their reproductive rate and success by smashing eggs and stressing fish just for a ‘Gram hero shot. Fish where they feed, not where they breed.  That is our public service announcement, be cool to the fish.

November brings off season rates, less folks on the river and some darn good fishing. Not to late to get out before winter sets in. Give a cool to the shop and we can help you plan a trip and talk fishing. See you out there and have a great fall!
