Good news, anglers! Wyoming Game and Fish has lifted the voluntary fishing closure below Lusby, marking a welcome change. Hot temperatures and low water conditions kept anglers on their toes for much of the season. Many fishermen adjusted their schedules, quit early, or stayed off the water entirely during the hottest parts of the day. We appreciate everyone who paid attention to water temperatures and helped protect this fishery when conditions were tough.
Cooler weather has finally arrived. Water temperatures are improving across the system, fish are becoming more active, and some of the best fishing of the year is just around the corner. Fall is a favorite season on the North Platte for a reason.
Things are cooling down, and the fishing is heating up. We’ll see you on the water.
