Ugly Bugs and Crazy Ladies 2022 is an annual event catering specifically to women in the sport of fly fishing. Inspired by the Orvis 50/50 campaign, we wanted to give women some options for learning how to fish in an environment that mitigates an often-intimidating skill to learn. Through this progressive program, we have made the sport of fly fishing more accessible and comfortable for all women. Did we mention this all takes place on the famous Grey Reef section of the North Platte River? That’s right! Learn to cast, tie knots and flies, read water, get familiar with entomology, wade fish, and then guided during peak season. Choose the class that best suits your experience level, and we will take care of the rest!
The 101 is perfect for beginners. Many lady anglers choose to participate in this course based on the time of year (nice weather) it is offered. Nothing like learning how to cast, tie flies, and fish- in a relaxed environment and good weather! Our 201 course is designed to ‘up the ante’ when it comes to being self-sufficient on the water. The 201 offers a natural progression to the 101 as we begin to dig a bit deeper in the science and art of fly fishing.
Choose the class that best suits your experience level, and we will take care of the rest! Below you will find an outline of the 101 and 201 offerings.
